Her witch cackle makes me Shriek

I know. I really love her as Cassandra in Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure. I’m obsessed with her solo song Waiting in the wings(My favourite song) and I love the songs she sings in season three cause they’re hard Rock and I think they fit her voice so well. Rock own Eden🤘

Warming up you kind of just have to do quietly on your own. Find some vocal techniques that work for you like a simple siren, I use straw phonation, whatever works. Most places you are all in a holding room but it really just depends. For my Dear Evan Hansen open call they gave us our sheets and they said ok come back in 2 hours. In NYC you could just go and rent a studio where the auditions are happening for 30 minutes. I brought a breakfast bar for this specific audition but again, they let us leave and come back for the dear evan hansen open call so my friends and I went to starbucks and grabbed breakfast.

Ali Cole Hello! For these open call auditions, you sing first and then you might be called back to dance. If you go to professional auditions they will have ECC (Equity chorus call) for female/male dancers or EPA (Equity Principal Auditions) are solely for principle roles and those you usually you sing first and then if it requires dance you’ll be called back to do that.

Hello! Auditions are posted on many different things. Following the casting agencies is one way to find out about auditions. In NY I recommend looking up Telsey + Co Casting, Tara Rubin Casting, and Binder Casting. There are many other casting agencies. Backstage is a subscription-based audition site that you can find out about casting calls, mostly TV and Film auditions but sometimes there are Broadway listings for tours. Another place to look is Playbill.com and go to their Jobs section. They have audition listings all the time. The vlogs also will post on our Instagram story when we see an audition call.

Hello! I am not equity!

Hello! I don't have a job but some first-year students here are working at jobs like coffee shops or they are a Wag Walker which is a dog walking service. As for juggling school and rehearsals, it's all up to how you work. When you audition for a show here at Columbia you can sign up for a performance class which can count for credit and also for no credit. Those details differ between the show and if it is a mainstage or not. Most rehearsals start after 5 but it just depends on class schedules of the cast. I have had a few late nights but you also have time between classes to get work done if you have created your schedule that way. So I usually have at least 30-60 minutes between classes and that is when I work on homework. But getting things done is all on you and if you will make time for it. The first thing I realized was that I have a lot more free time in college than I did in high school so it's making sure that your free time is being used wisely. Hope that answers your question!

@@jennicooper147 Yeah sorry can't answer much about having a job. It's a lot of juggling and making sure that you are on top of everything. Not putting too much on your plate. Something that every actor must learn!

Go in there confident and know yourself! Remember that the only thing you have control of in that room is yourself and how prepared you are. If they like you they like you, if they don't then don't worry about it. Don't get upset if you didn't get a callback or didn't get cast. It wasn't meant to be and there will be something for you later. And also don't go in thinking you already have the job. If you aren't cast then you haven't lost anything and you've gained the experience! HAVE FUN!
